The Kaleidoscope Project is a thought provoking project to amplify Black, Indigenous and People of Color within the design community. We seek to show the true colors present within our community and create welcoming and inclusive spaces that reflect a broader design narrative.

The historic Cornell Inn is a bed and breakfast in the heart of the historic village of Lenox, Massachusetts and will be the home of the Kaleidoscope Project Designer Showhouse.

The Kaleidoscope Project Designer Showhouse will be presented at the centuries-old Cornell Inn in Lenox, Massachusetts, nestled within The Berkshires. Twenty-two BIPOC designers will be invited to renovate and modernize the Main House and Carriage House constructed in the 1800s. All designs will live in perpetuity following an exhibition from May 16- June 6, 2021, becoming part of the Cornell Inn’s history, with spaces being names for each designer.

The Kaleidoscope Project Designer Showhouse is proud to partner with educational programs and 501(c)(3) organizations providing scholarships to those in the BIPOC community interested in a career in the arts and design industry. It is our responsibility as professionals to provide opportunities and a pathway to higher education for future creatives. As a part of the broader community of the visual and performing arts, we must lead by example and shatter the stigmas. In line with our educational efforts, participating designers are encouraged to mentor a BIPOC student or intern studying a design discipline throughout this project.
